A Child’s War

This half term, we have been learning about the Second World War.

We started our topic with a memorable visit to Eden Camp, a modern theme history museum in North Yorkshire.

We have imagined what it would have been like to be evacuated and live with a family other than our own.

From a range of maps, we identified safe and dangerous places to live during the war.

After reading extracts from The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank, we wrote our own diary entries.

We wrote stories about children living through the Blitz.

We finished our topic with a VE Day street party; we made delicious wartime food and sang wartime songs.
