Let's Go Fly A Kite

As part of our 'Splendid Skies' topic this term, Class 1 explored elements of the four seasons and how weather patterns can vary, which included looking at different famous artist's weather representations such as, Henri Rousseau and Monet.

The children chose a famous art picture which showed different types of weather, and drew on their own experiences; describing how it made them feel and then finally painting the picture.

After learning to recite a poem by Christina Rossetti called, 'Who Has Seen the Wind', the children then compared suitable materials for making a kite, and decided that paper and plastic would work best. Naturally, we had to make sure that the finished creations worked, and even Mrs Rodwell couldn't resist helping us out with our experiment!
